ABOUT COMPUTER ART AND PUBLISHING

This two-year program is designed to provide graduates with job-entry skills in isometric drawing of cutaway and exploded views as well as preparing copy for printing. Students spend the majority of their time at drawing tables and computers working on assigned projects.   The newest development in the field is the introduction of computers for two and tree-dimensional drawings.

OCCUPATIONAL OVERVIEW

A computer publisher creates, designs, and draws illustrations for technical publications (manuals) used by industry or the general public to assemble, operate, or maintain equipment. The computer publisher also creates visual aids, charts, graphs, and produces page layouts for technical manuals, catalogs, and brochures.   Just about every product sold today—from a simple flashlight to the most complex type of machinery—is accompanied by descriptive literature and illustrations concerning its assembly, operation and maintenance. The computer publisher prepares the accurate and detailed illustrations for the literature.
